Students will be introduced to the principles underlying teaching and learning, the responsibilities and duties of teachers, and the techniques of imparting knowledge and information. This course typically expose students to and train students in classroom management, student behavior, leadership and human relations skills, assessment of student progress, teaching strategies, and various career opportunities in the field of education.
Teaching as a Career
Medical Terminology is a semester long course for 10th -12th grade students designed to teach students to identify medical terms by analyzing their components. Students learn how to identify medical terms by analyzing their components. These courses emphasize defining medical prefixes, root words, suffixes, and abbreviations. The primary focus is on developing both oral and written skills in the language used to communicate within health care professions.
Medical Terminology
Biology is the study of all living organisms and how they interact with their environment. This introductory course is designed to provide students a general overview of biochemistry, cell structure and function, genetics, evolution, ecology, body systems, and classification. Emphasis is given to the development of scientific skills, including developing and using models, obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information, and constructing explanations and designing solutions. Laboratory experiences include microscopic work, technology applications, and basic laboratory skills. The course satisfies the graduation requirement of one unit of Biological Science
Biology
Nutrition and Wellness is a semester long course for 10th -12th grade students, designed to teach science skills as they apply to food preparation, food production, and human nutrition. Students will explore the science behind many food preparation principles, the food production industry, and the structure and function of all of the essential nutrients.
